Mature woman with silver hair smiling in modern blue kitchen while baking with flour, eggs, and rolling pin on marble countertopHi there! I’m Emily, the slightly chaotic mastermind behind Cookzya—where family recipes meet modern disasters, and where I prove daily that you can burn water (don’t ask how).

My love affair with cooking started in childhood, mostly because I was the kid who’d rather steal cookie dough than play outside. My mother and grandmother tried their best to teach me the sacred art of not setting the kitchen on fire, and surprisingly, some of it actually stuck! My signature dish since I was ten? Pasta sutra with shrimp—which sounds way fancier than it actually is, but hey, we’re going with it.

Now I have my amazing cooking partner-in-crime: my daughter Rachel! She’s inherited the family cooking gene (thankfully with better smoke alarm management skills) and contributes her own delicious recipes and fresh perspectives to our blog. Together, we’re the dynamic duo turning kitchen chaos into culinary magic—she keeps me from burning things, and I teach her the art of improvisation!

Today, we’ve decided to share these culinary gems with the world before I forget them completely or my other daughters stage an intervention. Our dream? That future generations will carry on these recipes—and hopefully with fewer smoke alarm incidents than I’ve had.
